Are you a couple or a family? Do you like the sea and unspoiled nature? Do you love hiking and mountain? This travel idea will leave you speechless.
The Gargano, the heel of Italy, offers this and more. Located in a part of Italy which is not easily accessible, it offers his guests many untouched places far from mass tourism. We would like to direct you to a resort nearby, easily accessible, not far from the sea and in a strategic position as Agriturismo Giorgio. Located 500 meters from the center of Mattinata, it offers the possibility to reach the sea in just 10 minutes and other locations just minutes away by car.

Baia dei Gabbiani, also known as Vignanotica, is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches of the Gargano. You find it after few curves, park the car and continue with a “rough” free shuttle bus. There are two equipped beaches that rent umbrellas and sun loungers for around €15 a day. You can also choose to stay in the shadow of the cliffs or bring your own umbrella with you. The beach closes at 19:00 (last shuttle bus at 18:45)

If you like hiking, this is a path that you should try. You start from the GPS pin and climb up to Vignanotica for about 2 km, following the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. Coffee-break down to the beach in Vignanotica and back to the parking spot. Do not forget your camera for the spectacular view.

Parking: free parking along the road and on the GPS pin
Restaurants: there’s a restaurant about 1500 meters before the trail called “Monte Barone” that we strongly recommend. It offers a panoramic view of the sea and very fresh dishes at reasonable prices.

Vieste is the gem of Gargano. To get there, you have about 40 kilometers of driving (be aware, 30 of them in twists and turns), but well worth it. You can spend a full day in Vieste taking advantage of its sandy shores. We also suggest visiting the old town full of shops and typical workshops. Also very characteristic is the monolith “Pizzomunno” which you can find on the coast “Enrico Mattei”.

The beach of Mattinata is certainly one of the most renowned beaches of the Gargano. For guests of the farmhouse, you also have the advantage of having it close. It is possible to reach by shuttle bus (10 minutes) or with bikes. We recommend wearing beach shoes because of the large pebbles.

The Pugliese cuisine as well as the Garganica, is a typically Mediterranean cuisine. Among the many typical products, we would like to remember:

  • the podolico Caciocavallo: you recognize it by the intense yellow color. It is made by the cow’s milk grazing free in the Gargano area.
  • the “Paposcia”: a typical focaccia bread, commonly stuffed with meat, mozzarella and rocket
  • the Monte Sant’Angelo Bread: a special bread with a soft and crispy crust and soft and compact interior. You can find it in “loaves” of 2 kilos and over
  • Olive Oil: olives from Gargano produce a high-quality olive oil
